An increasingly established pianist in the greater Hartford area, Andrew King was winning regional competitions by the age of 17. In 2003, he and violist Sean Reilly were the first-prize winning chamber music group at the IES program in Vienna, Austria.  After studying in the Hartt School of Music Community Division, Mr. King attended Bowdoin College where he earned a BA in Music.  He returned to Hartt as the recipient of the WM Vincent Scholarship to complete his MM in Piano Performance.  His principal teachers include Robert Durso (New York), David Westfall, Margreet Francis, and Gerald Stofsky (Vienna).

Mr. King has competed internationally and performed in masterclasses for leading pianists, including Ilya Itin, Paul Roberts, Yael Weiss, and Robert Wyatt.  Active as both teacher and performer, Mr. King maintains a private studio at his home in Bloomfield and is on the faculty of the Community Division of the Hartt School.  Recent performances include a Hartt Community Division faculty recital at the Simsbury Library in October of this past year.

Additionally, Mr. King serves as pianist for the Enfield American Baptist Church, a position he has held since 2008.  For more information, please visit his website, andrewkingpianist.com.
